It’s a Venusian-Love-Sandwich
We are in and coming up on what I can only describe as a kind of Venusian-Love-Sandwich situation. I’m referring to the classic feedback technique of “sandwiching” negative feedback between two positive comments, and that’s kind of what’s happening in the sky right now.
Venus’s Condition (TLDR: She’s tired)
Mind you, Venus has been slightly uncomfortable in the sign of its fall in Virgo (more on that here). Mired in the details. Overwhelmed by some perfect ideal. Having to undergo a process of letting go. It’s not where she likes to be. So, Venusian matters may have felt a little difficult to access lately. Unity, harmony, beauty. Maybe that critical inner voice has been louder lately.
Positive Sandwich Slice No. 1: Jupiter sextiles Venus
But, there have been some glimmers of light and expansion amidst this process. Enter: Positive Slice of Sandwich Bread No. 1 → Venus sextiled Jupiter on Wed., Oct. 8. A sextile is a harmonious aspect and Jupiter is the other benefic planet in the sky, associated with wisdom, abundance and expansion. Moreover, Jupiter is extremely well-situated (i.e. happy) in the watery, nurturing sign of Cancer. This means ease and harmony (the sextile being a Venusian aspect) between Cancer and Virgo - Earth and Water - two yin or feminine signs. The Cancer and Virgo areas of your chart are receiving a kind of energetic balm right now - even as Venus is a bit under the weather. It’s a boost, and we’ll take it!
Negative-Sandwich-Filler: It’s Saturn.
Now for the negative-feedback part of the metaphorical sandwich. Maybe the middle of the sandwich is filled with pickles and you hate them (blasphemy!). Or maybe it has avocado and (shockingly) you’re not a fan. Pick your non-preferred filling of choice because the next aspect is Venus opposite Saturn on Sat., Oct. 11. The opposition is a challenging aspect - a push-pull or tug of war. It’s two opponents facing off. In one corner we’ve got Venus (i.e. Beauty, Harmony, Pleasure, etc). (She’s also tired, in the same sign as the South Node and unhappy in Virgo). Okay, so we’ve got a beleaguered Venus. And she’s facing off against Saturn. Father Time. The Stern Elder of the planets. Serious. Cold. Aloof. Says No. Says work harder. He’s been wrapping up something serious in the last degrees of Pisces. Wherever Pisces is in your chart, it’s the area of life that’s getting a final kind of “Get It Together” message from Dear Old Saturn. So, there’s a tension between Venusian Matters in Virgo and Saturnian Matters in Pisces. It can be a reality check in terms of the houses they fall in, in your chart.
Positive Sandwich Slice No. 2: Venus enters Libra
But, don’t despair! The Positive Slice of Sandwich Bread No. 2 is coming in hot, fresh out of the oven. It smells so good. Maybe it’s got some Dijon mustard or it’s slathered in butter. Whatever it is, it’s delicious because it represents Venus leaving her current lodging in Virgo (she left 1.5 stars and a negative review for Mercury, her host) and waltzing gracefully (She’s Venus, after all) into one of her home signs of Libra on Mon., Oct. 13. Hooray! Venusian matters will receive a much-needed rejuvenation through Nov. 6. It’s a great time to engage in anything Venus-related: Get a haircut. Redecorate your space. Plan outings with friends. Have fun. Go to an art museum. Say yes to whatever it is that brings you joy and pleasure and honor the women and femmes in your life, whom Venus represents.
